Hello! I’m Sohan Basak, a passionate software engineer who has been weaving code into solutions since 2011. My journey started as a hobbyist and took a professional turn in 2019. Here’s a snapshot of my career and interests:
Professional Timeline:
At Amazon, I began with Alexa Sensitive Content Intelligence (SCI), focusing on managing sensitive content across the platform. Worked with deploying, scaling and reporting various NLP and ML models
Later, as a founding member of the reformed Alexa Unified Feedback Intelligence team, I contributed to enhancing feedback collection and analysis, playing a crucial role in improving user interaction with Alexa.
Worked with Python, Java and React for the most part, used OpenSearch, AWS SNS/SQS and DynamoDB for various operations. Used AWS Redshift (PostgreSQL) for some BI facing work.
I was the only frontend developer in Eder, as such I was building almost all of the UI for Eder. The problem statement was Confidential Computing, Secure Machine Learning, Federated Learning and Secure ETL
I worked in Vue and Python (FastAPI) for the most part; Used AWS and Terraform for Infrastructure related.
At Signzy, I focused on fintech software development, initially working on bank onboarding applications. I quickly transitioned to managing diverse APIs, from image classification to fraud detection and AML/CFT protocols. A key project was developing and integrating Video KYC solutions with major clients like Citibank, enhancing customer verification processes.
Tech stack included mostly NodeJS, Vue and Angular. MongoDB for DBMS.

I am an Avid fan of science fiction, with a special place in my heart for ‘Rick and Morty’.
I am deeply into music, I like to listen to old indian classics, 2000s songs. I also like to play the guitar, I am not very good at it, but I am learning. I am a huge fan of John Mayer, Eminem and Ed Sheeran to name a few. Freddie Mercury, Pink Floyd and The Beatles are my all time favourites.
